Cisco's competing with HP

This is probably one of the worst kept secrets in the tech industry.Cisco is entering the blade servers market. But the most interesting thing about this story is that Cisco is not being secretive about how
it wants to compete with HP.

As expected, Cisco will launch its foray into blade servers. But the Wall Street Journal has an interesting take on this story. The paper reports how the former partners are now trying to beat each other as the tech industry matures.

The Wall Street Journal quotes Cisco's CTO Padmasree Warrior saying: "We are going to compete with HP. I don't want to sugarcoat that. There is bound to be change in the landscape of who you compete with and who you partner with."

HP also has its own networking gear that could threaten Cisco. In the latest developments IBM teamed up with Juniper, Brocade bought FoundryNetworks and Cisco's blade launch will include partners like BMC, EMC,VMware and Microsoft.

It seems like from here on we are going to see a handful of big name companies competing for the giant market share. On the bright side, the good news is that this big scuffle will most likely mean better pricing for the customers.
