Goode Intelligence has announced the results of its 2009 Mobile Security survey (Part 2) conducted during September 2009. The findings of the survey are:
1) 54 percent of organizations surveyed are planning to deploy mobile anti-virus products and services. Or in other words; these organizations are acknowledging the existence of mobile virus threat and thus consider mobile anti-virus products and services as a necessity. Of these organizations, 33 percent plan to deploy mobile anti-virus products and services by March 2010 and the remaining 67 percent plan to deploy by September 2010.
2) 40 percent of organizations are planning on recruiting for mobile security roles in the next two years.
2) The survey claims to provide the snapshot of the current state of mobile security within organizations across the globe.
3) Nearly 71 percent of organizations currently feel that the threat from mobile phone viruses is low. But what is of significance is that, this number drops significantly to 21 percent for 2011.
4) 29 percent are forecasting that by 2011 the risk will be high or very high.
5) At present only 13 percent of organizations are found to be having system to protect themselves from mobile viruses.
