Apple Inc's iPad had hit overseas store shelves on Friday. Japan became the first country in Asia to get an iPad.
Apple will also launch the iPad, which has a 9.7-inch color touchscreen tablet, in Australia, Germany, France, Italy, Switzerland, Spain, the UK and Canada on Friday.
On Wednesday, Apple shot past Microsoft Corp as the world's biggest technology company based on market value. This is seen as resurgence for Apple, which nearly went out of business in the 1990s.
Apple gets almost 3/5th or 60 percent of its revenue from overseas now, and is seeing stunning growth in Europe and Asia; hence the commencement of sales outside US will make for an interesting analysis.
