What is iPhone jailbreaking?
The iPhone, Apple originally provides runs only those applications that are from Apple’s App Store. In this iPhone a user can neither install applications outside the App Store nor can have any of the applications run in the background (multitasking). But when the default iPhone OS settings are circumvent to install a hacked version of iPhone OS that lets the user install applications from outside the App Store, have applications run in the background (multitasking), and so on. The process is called “iPhone jailbreaking” and such versatile iPhones are called “Jailbroken iPhones”.
According to Jay Freeman, founder of Cydia, an application store for jailbroken iPhones, although it’s hard to tell the exact number of jailbroken iPhones and iPod Touches, but there are estimates that as many as 8.5% of all iPhones and iPod Touches are jailbroken.
