According to a Goldman Sachs report in April, the e-book sales, which make up 3 percent of overall U.S. book sales now, would rise to 12.8 percent by 2015.
The figures given by the two biggest retailers of US, Borders and Barnes & Nobles, are more ambitious,
Edwards (President Borders) expects that ultimately 20 percent of book sales will shift online. Barnes & Noble Chairman Len Riggio, although predicting separately, gave a similar figure.
