Learn from Palin’s Use of Facebook

As a social marketer, compared to reading books, one can learn many folds just by observing what the actions of Top users. A fact many Facebook users understand. That’s why they are unanimous on one thing: Sarah Palin is quite adept at employing social media.

In a recently released report from Facebook, the former Alaska governor was one of several politicians praised by site users for their work this year on the social media giant.
Others being praised by Facebook users for their ingenuity while using Facebook are -- Representative Paul Ryan, the Wisconsin Republican, and Senator Sherrod Brown, the Ohio Democrat.

For social media experts, a trio of prominent Republicans – Senator Scott Brown of Massachusetts; Marco Rubio, the soon-to-be senator from Florida; and Tim Pawlenty, the outgoing governor of Minnesota – stand apart for their use of Facebook.

The armed services – especially the Navy – also got compliments for their use of the site.

Bend it like Palin: During the recent midterm cycle, Ms. Palin frequently took to Facebook, often to endorse or talk up her preferred candidates; bypassing interacting with some of the more traditional news media outlets. Facebook’s survey found that more than 2.5 million users had “liked” Ms. Palin’s page, which the site said she used to “communicate directly and authentically with supporters.”
