Remember the Facebook-centric HTC Status smartphone? The same phone which was code named Chacha, and rebranded as Status fof AT&T, and is the first Facebook phone! The phone is now available for pre-order from AT&T, with an official launch date of July 17.
The HTC Status will cost you $50 with a new two-year agreement. It was expected that the phone will have a low price.
Just to remind HTC Status has a screen 2.6 inches, which is much smaller than almost any of the screens launched in the past one year, and has a resolution of 480×320 pixels. The phone has a 5-megapixel rear camera to shoot, along with a VGA front-facing camera for video chat. The Status runs Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread and is powered by a 800MHz processor. The phone comes with support for WiFi, Bluetooth 3.0 and a microSD card.
Although the specs above may not look attractive, but the phone was never in news for its specs, it was talked about for its Facebook integration. With a good plan, the phone with good Facebook integration and ease of using Facebook, courtesy a physical QWERTY keyboard , can be a really useful device.
Talking about HTC Status’s Facebook integration, the phone allows a user, engaged in any other activity on phone, to simultaneously post directly to Facebook by simply pressing that Facebook button in the bottom right corner.
The HTC Status, will get admirers among very active Facebook users, youngsters still at school and college; anyone who likes a physical QWERTY keypad. --------
