How to use Siri to control your TV

Tood Treece, has used Apple's voice-activated personal assistant Siri with some additional hardware to control a TV.

With his effort, Tood managed to change channels and switch the TV off with just voice commands.

Her is how the thing works: The Iphone sends a command to an Arduino microcontroller via transmission control protocol (TCP) and the required information is gathered from a TV guide web site. This project is based on the same open source proxy code, created by plamoni. Watch the demo video below:
