Amazon rolls out India Site

Amazon, world’s biggest retailer, on Thursday launched its service in India.

With this one of world's biggest online retailers, enters India --one of the world's largest retail markets, worth $550 billion.

The Indian website, called Junglee.com, doesn't yet offer customers the option to directly purchase from Amazon. Only allowing potential customers to compare prices and visit the websites of suppliers for purchases.


In its press release, Amit Agarwal, vice president, Amazon.com said,

"We are excited to give customers in India a single online starting point where they can shop a wide selection of products sold by local and global retailers,".

At the launch, Amazon's Indian website will offer buyers an option of 12 million products across 25 categories. --------
