Apple 12.9" iPad, third-gen iPad mini unlikely in 2014

According to some reputed Apple news sources, the still-in-development 12.9-inch Apple iPad model is unlikely to launch this year. Also, it's highly unlikely that a successor to the iPad mini with Retina display; will be launched this year. Apple iPad Mini is Apple's first tablet with a 7.9-inch display.

Both these dampners come from one well-connected insider.

According to sources who are privy to developments inside Apple, development of the next iPad Air and a new 12.9-inch iPad will be the main focus for Apple in the tablet market this year. This is likely to affect the plans for new iPad mini. As a result, the chances of a new iPad mini model in the second half of 2014 are slim. The launch in the second half of 2014 of 12.9 inch iPad, referred to as an "iPad Pro", are slim as well.

This leaves the world with just one good news from Apple in 2014: An iPad Air update with A8 CPU and Touch ID.

Another task Apple is currently focussing on is Apple iWatch. Apple is believed to be currently busy finishing the operating system for its much anticipated "iWatch,", which it plans to launch before the the Festive season  2014.

According to a noted analysts, 12.9-inch iPad or Apple iPad Pro will be the growth driver for the company, and will require a revised operating system to take advantage of the larger display. The largest iPad at present has a 9.7-inch screen. According to insiders, Apple is unlikely to be able to finish the software for a larger "iPad Pro" by the end of 2014. Hence the delay. --------
