NTT DoCoMo to launch Japan’s first Voice-over-LTE in Late June

NTT Docomo (DoCommunicationsMobile) will launch Japan’s first Voice-over-LTE (VoLTE or Voice Over 4G) service beginning late-June. The VoLTE requires Xi (read “crossy”) network that would offer high-quality voice and video calls, also enabling the user receive Area Mail disaster-information notifications while making VoLTE voice/video calls.

The 6 new devices which will be supporting VoLTE are also revealed. and they are:

Samsung Galaxy S5 (SC-04F)
Sony Xperia Z2 (SO-03F)
Sharp Aquous Zeta (SH-04F)
Fujitsu Arrows NX F-05F
Sharp Aquos Pad (SH-06F)
Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet (SO-05F)

Other devices in the line-up include,

Sharp disney mobile on Docomo (SH-05F)
Sony Xperia A2 (SO-02F)
Fujitsu Rakuraku Smartphone 3 (F-06F)
Fujitsu F-07F and Fujitsu SH-07F.

All these devices will be network locked and are expected to be launched between this May and August, 2014. NTT DoCoMo would also be offering data for VoLTE video calls free till September 2015. --------
