Fujitsu unveils Symbian based Dual-Touchscreen Mobile Phone prototype

At CEATEC JAPAN 2010, Fujitsu Corporation showed a Symbian based large Dual-Touchscreen clamshell concept smartphone.


Just a prototype, the device has two 960 x 480 capacitive touchscreens both mounted on a swivel base. The device shows content scrolling across both displays and are able to rotate, allowing a user to check websites in full-screen mode, and pinch in and out with your two fingers to zoom. The company has no plans to make such a device. ---------

First 100 euros symbian smartphones to hit the market in 2010

Market Research firms are expecting a highly competitive smartphone market in 2010 (as cellphone vendors battle aggressively for a larger share of the more lucrative part of the handset market). A year when cheaper but better phones by new and existing players will be rolled out.

Adding credence to the above forecast, Symbian Foundation* has announced in the Barcelona event that First Symbian smartphones with unsubsidized prices of 100 euros ($137) will reach the market this year.

Note: Symbian Foundation is the body which The cheapest of Nokia's Symbian phones sells now for 120-130 euros, without operator subsidies.
