With Multiple Smartphones, Motorola can't emulate Apple!
Apple's rock strong loyal fans are always instrumental in helping its every product succeed.

But there are other things which Apple does, which make its products succeed.

For instance, many a times critics complain of Apple products all looking the same, with respect to basic form. But what it's the reason, Apple manages to succeed with its every new product, when each look mini-Mes or slimmer-mes.

I think the key is the product category differentiation. Apple doesn't launch multiple product in a category. For instance, when it ventured into smartphone market; it just launched iPhone range. When a new iPhone is launched, the earliest one is already fading out.

When Apple created the tablet PC category, it didn't launch four different tablets at different price points appeasing different target audience. In short, Apple takes calculated risk, it launched a product; either you like it or not; either you afford it or not.

When Apple saw the sanilty of a 7 inch tablet it launched iPad Mini.

In short, Apple can afford to keep its products the same in looks, their functionality differentiates them.

But when a Company rolls out multiple products for multiple target audiences at different price points, then all of them looking the same doesn't help. Motorola is doing exactly the same. Irrespective of the price of its smartphones, all look the same. Which is particularly good, as people buy gadgets for boasting rights as well.

iPhone 6 4.7 inch display For White and Black Models
A pic of an iPhone 6 screen assembly has surfaced. the pic is believed to be the final assembly for the upcoming iPhone 6 screen snapped from the iPhone 6 assembly line, for both the black and white iPhone 6 models. Here's the pic :

iphone 6, 4.7 inch, black iphone, white iphone,
iPhone 6 with a 4.7-inch screen

The often rumored and widely anticipated iPhone 6 with a 4.7-inch screen is said to be affixed to the front fascia. There's a larger home button cutout, supporting speculations of a revamped TouchID. There's a third hole at the top.

Some Apple news portals are point out the missing the electromagnetic shield — typically affixed to the rear of the screen. This they think points to one of the two things: the new design, or to make way for new features like NFC (where you tap two phones and transfer the data, Android has made NFC popular).

Recent rumors , close to September 09, 2014 launch of the 4.7 inch iPhone 6, point to the new iPhone display glass rounded toward the edges, melding right into the curved metal backing. he bezels (the path like boundary around the display) appears to have gone narrower too.

Apple is believed to unveil the newest 4.7-inch iPhone on September 9th, 2014 with release later in the month. The larger 5.5-inch iPhone 6 version is believed to  come later in the year, perhaps in October alongside the iWatch.

Gadget enthusiasts have been eagerly waiting for the new Amazon android phone. They have filtered the web for any leaks, rumours for so long that the official announcement of the June 18 event, to launch the much anticipated Android smartphone on Amazon's site, has become a celebration itself. The teaser on the Amazon Homepage of the new Amazon android phone has increased the happy tension even more.

And interesting thing is, the event is not Press Only event. Amazon invites all of you, yes all of you to attend the event. All you have to do is Amazon’s homepage and click to register for an invitation. If you’re chosen, which will happen before June 12, 2014, then you’ll be able to travel to Amazon in Seattle, USA and see this new phone for yourself.

The anticipation for Amazon smartphone is not misplaced particularly after the ambitions of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and the success of the Amazon's Fire-branded Android devices -- Amazon Fire TV, the Amazon Kindle Fire Tablet. The Amazon eBook Reader is always there. All Amazon needs to make best use of its app ecosystem, Amazon Appstore for Android, and Android Appstore, is a smartphone.

The new Amazon smartphone will be an Android phone, There's not much known about the Use Interface. That's what Amazon has created to sit above the Google Android OS.

We've seen the leaks, heard the rumors, and now there’s a press event on the 18th of June. The cool thing about this event is that you’re invited.

What can surprise us  in the new Amazon Smartphone ?

According to some rumours out there, the new amazon smartphone experience moves with the user. Apparently, there are sensors on the front of the phone that delivers a 3D experience of some kind. How and what, is not known right now. But since amazon is entering the smartphone market rather late, hence it can be assumed that the UI will be different from what competitors have rolled out so far. May be you can see some 3D bundled in a smartphone. Who knows.

See you at the Amazon Android Phone unveiling event in Seattle on June 18... ---------

Turn Your Smartphone Alerts into Smells!

A Device is soon being launched in Japan that Turns Smartphone Alerts Into Smells

Gone are the days when phone alerts are simply some piece of music or notes. Gone are the days when people guessed your personality by the choice of your alert.

The day ha come when people can smell your alert notifications. Obviously, you will be smelling your alerts too.

Scentee, a white, round device that plugs into your phone's earphone jack, releases a small spray of fragrance each time you receive a notification. So the next time you receive a notification from your love, you can smell his/her perfume. Although, the choice for smells is limited at present, but who knows a month later you're able to replace the smell with that of your girlfriend's favourite perfume.

To sum up, Scentee works this way: ay you get a Facebook Like, you can smell something like strawberry or jasmine. Or you can smell mint, coffee or lavender. These are the options you have for smell cartridges.

The device's LED lights also light up with each notification. Ya, humans are primarily visual beings.

Each cartridge yields 100 sprays and refills cost $5. It launches on November 15 for Japan — and a bacon scent may be in the works. So if you are too popular on Facebook and real world, then you may deplete your 100 sprays soon. But that will not hurt, particularly when a Facebook like or a new friend is your dream (marketers listen).

The device works with both iOS and Android phones; an app is used to configure when the device releases its scent.

May be Scentee, by CEO Koki Tsubouchi, gives you the Happiness of your Life, the way it did for this Girl in Japanese Soap:

Smartphone Markets Globally June 2013
Smartphones may be the latest thing in many markets, but in some it's already on a decline. So how Smartphone markets globally really look like in June 2013?

Developed Smartphone Markets:

According to research firm International Data Corporation (IDC), the Western European mobile phone market shrank in the first quarter of 2013 due to a lower than expected slowdown in the smartphone shipments. Total shipments dropped by 4.2 percent year-on-year to 43.6 million units for Q1 of 2013. While feature phone (basic phone) shipments continued to fall, the smartphone segment saw only a 12 percent increase year on year in shipments up to 31.6 million units in the quarter. According to IDC this is the lowest growth rate for the segment since IDC started tracking the mobile phone market in 2004.

The reasons for the slowdown experienced in smartphone sales in Western European countries are deteriorating economies, resulting in a consequent decline in disposable income for consumers and reduced subsidies on handsets by Mobile operators. Both the Southern Europe smartphone markets and Northern Europe smartphone markets have experienced the economic decline. In Western Europe particularly, smartphone penetration is reaching a tipping point, with most users not willing to replace their old smartphone. According to IDC Analysts, the smartphone market in the region is entering the second wave of smartphone adoption, which will be driven by those users with no need for a smartphone (First Wave was driven by those users looking for devices that would meet their mobility needs). In short, for smartphone makers, Western Europe smartphone market is stagnating.

On the Smartphone Operating System front, Android continues to dominate the smartphone market in Western Europe, with 21.9 million units shipped in Q1, while Apple’s iOS is on a steady decline. Apple market share declined to 20 percent from 25 percent from Q1 of 2012. Windows Phone 8 improved its position to become the third biggest OS in the region and its market share rose to 6% in Q1 of 2013.

Developing Smartphone Markets:

The smartphone markets in developing countries like India and China, are seeing a growth and according to the IDC report on mobile phone growth in China and India, these are the markets where the mobile makers will need to focus. As these will be offering the much needed growth.

As far as China is concerned, IDC says Q1 2013 saw 97 million units shipped in Q1 which is 15 percent increase from Q1 2012. Smartphones in China reached 28 million units in Q1 2013, which is massive 390 percent year-on-year growth. China’s mobile phone market is dominated by smartphones which have a 79 percent share. In India the smartphone shipments also continued to  74 percent year-on-year in Q1 of 2013.  In both markets smartphone is being driven by low cost devices, including phones from China made or indigenous makers. In both these markets, smartphones is the latest thing. ---------
