After Microsoft, it's Mozilla’s turn now to issue security fixes. The Mozilla Firefox Web browser, which is recommended by the experts, is one of the most secure browsers at present.

The number of patches issued is – 8 (out of which 3 are for fixing critical problems).

Out of three, the two critical problems in Firefox browser can result in following:

Allow a hacker to execute malicious actions/commands across sites, irrespective of the compatibility of web applications on which the action/commands are executed.

The third critical problem relates to Firefox's browser engine and can result in:

Firefox browser crashes

Hacker executing some action on your PC remotely (taking control of your PC) in the course of normal Web browsing.

How to protect yourself:

* Stop using firefox2 and upgrade it to Firefox 3___Spreadfirefox Affiliate Button

(Firefox is prompting firefox2 users to upgrade to firefox3 already, so next time you’ll open the browser to surf, you will be prompted, accept the suggestion).

* If you are already using Firefox 3, keep your browser update.

Unlike Microsoft which wants you to go to certain location to download the patches Firefox's does this for you automatically, and you will be prompted to restart the browser to complete the process.

So, If you’re still using Microsoft’s IE, trash it for Mozilla Firefox 3.
