First the meaning,
According to Wikipedia, Baby boomer is a term used to describe a person who was born during the Post-World War II baby boom. As the world got stability after the war, there was a sudden rise in the world numbers. Owing to the freedom, the newly found peace and stability brought along, the people who were born post WW II were found to be more open to new thoughts and ideas.
So Baby boomers now represent the demographic in their 50s and early 60s.
Baby boomers and senior citizens are also jumping on the social networking bandwagon; but the reason for their Social network presence is to stay in touch with family across the country and rekindle friendships from days gone by.
The rate of adoption of social networking for Baby boomers makes it an attractive demographic for marketers.
