Admob reports rapid rise in Android Ad Impressions

According to Admob’s recent data on Android, there is a surge in Android ad impressions. AdMob, which shows ads on different mobile sites and applications, gets the data from the ad impressions its ads get on these mobile sites and applications.

Below are the higlights of AdMob’s latest Android metrics:

1) Worldwide ad requests from Android devices increased 97% from October to December. AdMob received over 1 billion ad requests from Android devices in Dec 09.

2) Earlier in October, HTC devices contributed 98 percent of the requests. In December the ad requests come from a number of manufacturers. 56% of requests were from HTC devices, 39% from Motorola devices, and 5% from Samsung. In simple, there is increased manufacturer diversity.

3) Compared to October, the number of devices gemnerating more than 3 percent of requests each , has increased. In October, there were only 3 such devices-- HTC Dream, HTC Magic, and HTC Hero. In December, the number has increased to 7 -- Motorola Droid, HTC Dream, HTC Magic, HTC Hero, Motorola CLIQ, HTC Droid Eris, and the Samsung Moment.

4) Motorola Droid is the number one Android handset in the AdMob network generating 30% of requests in December.

5) Among countries, US leads Android adoption: 90% of Android traffic was in the US in December (up from 84% in October).

6) Top countries by requests are the US, UK, Germany, France, and Canada, respectively. --------
