Soon iPhone users will be able to watch live TV --courtesy Qualcomm's FLO TV service and iPod accessory company Mophie.
But to be able to watch live TV, a user will need more than just an application.
Additional requirements are :
An add-on sleeve to receive the TV broadcast. Qualcomm's FLO TV service requires a special antenna and radio to receive it since it operates on its own network; Iphone doesn’t have the in-built hardware.
What user has to pay(speculation):
Pop on the Mophie sleeve--$80
Plus monthly service fee -- $9 a month.
Qualcomm is formally announcing the product offering today at CES, but will nto reveal the price.
According to the companies associated, the service will be available in the first half of 2010.
