No FTP publishing support in Blogger After March 26 2010

First of all let I tell you who FTP users are. To explain this, I’m going to tell you, who are not the FTP users; that way all those left out are those who are.

If you are using blogger and your blog url looks like this:
abc.blogspot.com

Or If you had bought only name (also called domain name) to make your blog url look abc.com from the abc.blogspot.com provided by the blogger.

In both cases you are NOT an FTP user.

Those bloggers who don’t come under the above two categories are the FTP users. And the information in this write-up is for them.

The information is, after March 26, 2010, Google will no longer support FTP publishing in Blogger.

The reasons for stopping the ftp support for blogger are:
1) Challenges faced by Blogger users who relied on FTP to publish their blogs.

2) FTP being a significant drain on Google’s ability to improve Blogger: only .5% of active blogs are published via FTP — yet the percentage of our engineering resources devoted to supporting FTP vastly exceeds that.

3) Critical infrastructure that Blogger’s FTP support relies on at Google will soon become unavailable, which would require a complete rewrite of the code that handles Blogger’s FTP processing. --------
