Is iPhone encroaching on Blackberry’s domain

Business executives all over the world want to sport a RIM Blackberry. And the situation has reached to such a proportion that Blackberry has become a business phone (I’m not saying it doesn’t have the qualities to have an iconic status among business people).

But now Apple’s iPhone is encroaching on Blackberry’s domain with some clear visibility.
British bank Standard Chartered is replacing the BlackBerry, currently its standard corporate communications device, with the iPhone. The change will be effected in bank’s other branches world-wide too.

Financial institutions such as HSBC Holdings Plc and Morgan Stanley have so far been restricted to the BlackBerry; but some indications are there that both are contemplating a transition to Apple iPhone.

A move that could eventually result in thousands of bankers switching to the Apple device for business communication on the go; and may be the trend will trickle down to numerous business executives in general.

Will Apple iPhone encroach successfully in Blackberry’s domain? What do you think? --------
