Cisco unveils a business tablet named Cius

Cisco Systems Inc is launching a tablet computing device, named Cius, aimed at business customers.

Cius tablet:

1) runs Android OS.

2) Is aimed at business customers. Will be seen competing with Apple iPad, Notion Ink's Adam and Asus Eee Pad.

3) Has a 7-inch high resolution touchscreen supporting contact-based touch targets.

4) will offer HD video streaming, real-time video, multi-party conferencing and other functions like email, chat and web browsing. Cisco TelePresence technology is credited for enabling 720p HD video for lifelike communication.

5) Will be available in the first quarter of 2011.

6) has a bunch of apps collaboratively developed for the business-level users.

7) Has a virtual desktop client too that can access applications located on the cloud servers.

8) Has an accelerometer for better viewing orientation. This means one can view the tablet in landscape and portrait orientation.

9) Has a 5-megapixel rear facing camera which is capable of transmitting VGA quality videos.

10) Supports Wi-Fi a/b/g/n along with 3G and 4G network standards (high-speed mobile wireless networks).

11) Has Bluetooth 3.0 support.

12) Also supports Bluetooth and USB peripherals.
