Sprint’s Epic 4G to go on sale on August 31

Samsung Epic 4G
Sprint has announced that the Epic 4G will be coming out on August 31st, with pre-orders starting tomorrow. The pricing is starting at $249.99 after $150 instant rebate and $100 mail in rebate.

As the name suggests the Epic 4G will run on the Sprint 4G network, providing high speed internet in 4G covered areas.

Samsung Epic 4G has the same basic specs, except for some exceptions, as the rest of the Galaxy S devices that have been, or will be, launched on U.S. carriers; namely T-Mobile Vibrant, AT&T Captivate, and Verizon Fascinate (still to launch).
The exceptions being, Epic 4G will be the only 4G version of the phone, and also the only one with a front-facing camera and a slide-out keyboard.

Specs of Samsung Epic 4G:

1) Android 2.1

2) full QWERTY slide out keyboard

3) 5 Megapixel camera with a VGA front facing camera

4) Super AMOLED display

5) 1 GHz Samsung processor

6) weighs just 4.2 ounces

7) Also has Samsung’s exclusive AllShare service that allows you to wirelessly stream music, pictures, and HD video to other DLNA certified home electronics.

8) Also connects to your local Wi-Fi network to provide faster speeds when home.

9) 1500 mAh removable battery
