Apple iPads sold as of September 2010 and latest rumors about iPad2

If sales are an indication of a product’s popularity, then Apple iPad has done exceptionally well. Despite lacking a camera (a thing both its lower priced siblings, the iPod and the iPhone and some of the possible competitors have announced in their tablets ) Apple's iPad has already sold more than 7.46 million iPads as of late September. And with Apple bringing its device at more sale outlets -- the Apple stores, Best Buy, AT&T, Verizon, Wal-Mart, Sam's Club stores and maybe even TJ Maxx this holiday season; sales are only expected to increase.

But as happens with all Apple products; rumormill is already running full throttle about the next iteration of the device—the iPad 2—Due summer 2011.

Latest rumors come from PCWorld, which say, iPad 2 will have the following:

1) A Front facing camera to utilize Apple's new FaceTime video chat software, that debuted on iPhone4, and then moved on to iPod Touch and the new MacBook Air laptops.
2) A 5-megapixel rear-facing camera
3) Will be thinner and lighter
4) A mini USB port, replacing the 30-pin dock connector used in the current version of the iPad. --------
