European mobile networks, Orange and T-Mobile, who recently came together – to merge their UK divisions into a single holding company - have announced that they will offer subsidies to customers to buy the Apple iPad tablet computer along with a subscription service.
In France, the mobile network would offer the iPad at prices starting from EUR 279 (US$383). To be eligible for the discount, a buyer will have to sign up for 24 months at EUR 35 per month.
Without a subscription plan, iPad sells for prices ranging from US$500 to US$1120 depending on country and whether it’s a 3G model or not. The basic model is Wi-Fi only.
