Tata Teleservices, along with its Japanese partner DoCoMo, on Wednesday launched 3G mobile services in nine circles in India. The nine circles are-- Kerala, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh (including Chhatisgarh), Rajasthan, Gujarat, UP (West), Punjab, Haryana and Maharashtra.The company will complete the full roll out of 3G services in the said circles by the year end.
With this, Tata DoCoMo became the first private telecom firm to launch 3G mobile services in the country. Two state owned firms -- BSNL and MTNL -- had launched the services more than a year ago.
The launch of 3G services by Tata DoCoMo (would be available from the mid-night of November 4 or the beginning of November 5 morning on the day of Diwali) would translate to its subscribers getting access to high speed internet and video telephony.
