Apple has just completely removed Jailbreak Detection API for iOS! It has been completely disabled or removed from iOS 4.2.1, as NetworkWorld reports. A surprising action from Apple.
This isn’t exactly a permanent victory for jailbreakers, since an API, a programming resource that developers make use of to detct and ensure that their software or operating system is functioning properly and that it isn't modified is just basically to protect users from malicious ones, but after the removal there could be more freedom for the jailbreakers.
But NetworkWorld, insists that Apple may have now some other alternatives to discover if an iPhone, iPod touch or iPad has been modified so they can load and modify applications outside of Apple's iTunes-based App Store.
But on a different perspective, why will Apple want its devices to become versatile like Windows?
