According to a report from Patently Apple, a US patent was recently been awarded to Apple Inc for a stereoscopic three-dimensional display system that doesn't require glasses.
Apple's patent states that "due to the special user appeal but the daunting unsolved technical challenges, a distinctive need particularly continues for practical autostereoscopic 3D displays that provide a realistic holographic experience."
The technology behind Apple’s 3D displays is, left and right eye images are modulated to provide three dimensional image without the need for special glasses. The normal way to make a 3D image.
Numerous observers can be accommodated independently and simultaneously. The display uses time tracking of observers' eye positions to enable realistic horizontal and vertical parallax.
