According to Telecom Regulatory Authority of India data, there are 83 million or 8.3 crore Internet users in India. Out of these more than 56 per cent are on broadband. Thus the number of broadband users in India is 46.5 million or 4.65 crore.
If India’s current population is assumed to be 1.2 billion, then about 7 percent of population have access to internet and about 4 percent have broadband.
