Quick sharp thinking of a teen in US helped his mother get timely police protection from her assaulting boyfriend.
According to Associated Press, 33 year old Kelly Heinl, was attacked by her boyfriend, 31-year-old Reggie LeAndrew Hart, in her St. Paul home. When the woman’s 15 year old son heard her mother’s cries for help; instead of hopping on to the phone to call the police; as that would have alerted the assailant; the teen used his cell phone instead, to post a message for help on Facebook. A friend saw it and called police.
The woman’s boyfriend has been charged with domestic assault. Nootably, Hart was convicted of murdering the boy’s father in 1998, who is also Hart’s cousin.
