Tablet manufacturers have already started spoiling the Indian tablet buyer. Yesterday Motorola officially launched the Xoom Android tablet in India; and Asus Eee Pad Tansformer is reportedly slated for an end July arrival.
Xoom buyers will have option to buy both the 3G and the Wi-Fi-only versions. Both come with Android Honeycomb, 32GB of on-board memory, a 10.1 inch multi-touch display, A-GPS, dual-core 1GHz processor, and two cameras (rear and front-facing).
How Xoom compares with Apple iPad 2:
Price: The Xoom 3G has a price tag of about 40,000 INR ($890), while the Xoom Wi-Fi has 32,000 INR ($700). Although no word is out on Indian pricing yet, it’s expected that an Indian will have to shell out rupees 20,000 for Wi-Fi 16GB version.
