Facebook users in Britain overwhelmed by Facebook privacy changes

According to a new survey by Which? Computing, almost half (48 per cent) of Facebook's 30 million British users can't keep up with the frequent changes to its privacy and security settings.

The magazine states that it’s the pace with which Facebook makes changes to its platform, which may be making the users overwhelmed. According to the magazine, Facebook had made at least nine significant changes to privacy settings in the last 18 months, that’s 1 change every two months.

Other insights from the survey:

1) 19 per cent of Facebook users in UK had never changed their Facebook privacy settings. Those who do it , do it far less often than Facebook makes changes.

2) Despite being disapproving of the pace with which Facebook brings changes, the survey found that many Facebook users in Britain feel that Facebook's privacy settings are improving. About 60 per cent of respondents agreed that "Facebook has given them more control over the way their data is accessed by others.

Notably, in recent times, in September Facebook announced a major overhaul of its platform aimed at encouraging users to post more information about their lives; while introducing new privacy controls as well, to give users "total control" over who can access what information. --------
