Microsoft launches So.cl – A social network cum virtual Classroom for Students

Microsoft’s social network, named So.cl, remained a topic of speculation in the Tech world for the past several months. Sustaining its news worthy importance via leaked bits; the true character of So.cl remained a matter of keen specuation – some called it a Facebook/Google+ competitor, and others kept guessing.

But all the speculation ends today. As Microsoft has officially announced So.cl.

And rather than So.cl being a social network encompassing the entire humanity (below 13 year olds by faking age); the site is created just for Students.

So.cl is designed to give students the ability to network with peers, share useful information quickly, and build their own pages that collect information from both inside and outside the classroom. In short, Soc.cl is a virtual classroom for studenst , which gains info from classroom, the real world and the web.


Hence, So.cl is not a Facebook/Google+ competitor. --------
