Facebook users in Brazil as of end December 2011
In its documents for IPO filed with the US Securities and Exchange Commission ( SEC) , for the upcoming IPO, Facebook said that it sees Brazil as a geography to focus on. In the past one year the number of users in Brazil (MAUs or Most Active Users, those who accessed the network in the last 30 days) grew 268 per cent and reached 37 million as on December 31, 2011.
Notably, Facebook displaced Orkut as Brazil's Top Social network in mid 2011.
