This summer, when the standalone Rebellion expansion arrives on June 12, 2012; you will be granted your wish.

Stardock and Ironclad have put the official stamp on the release date today. They have also opened Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion pre-orders as well; starting April 5, 2012, at the Stardock Store, Steam, and Impulse. The Stardock store will also give discounts to owners of previous Sins games.
