Facebook has announced a new application for the iPhone and iPod Touch called Facebook Camera. The App is intended to make it easier to take pictures and share them on Facebook.
According to Facebook, the application, which puts photos at the center of the experience, is much faster and much prosperous (shows more photos) than the current Facebook app for Apple’s iOS. That apart, on the side of publishing these photos, Facebook Camera lets the user upload much higher resolution photos at up to 2,048 by 2,048 pixels wide. Notably, the standard Facebook application uploads lower-resolution pictures.
Filters are a welcome introduction:
The application brings photo filters to Facebook. A total of 15 filters are offered. Will include tools for cropping and straightening photos, much like the photo editing tools within Apple’s photo app. The filters will include cool, light, bright, golden, cream and neon.
