Some saw Acer 8.1-inch Windows 8 Pro Tablet on Amazon!

Acer 8.1-inch Windows 8 Pro Tablet on Amazon. 8 inch tablet form factor may be odd. But it appears Acer and Microsoft are ready for smaller Windows 8 tablets.

Hours ago, many saw Acer 8.1-inch Windows 8 Pro Tablet on Amazon. The Acer Iconia W3 tablet was showing a price tag of $379.99 or $380 on Amazon. May look  a bit expensive to some, but the having Windows 8 Pro is surely an attraction.

Since the news of Acer 8.1-inch Windows 8 Pro Tablet on Amazon spread, Amazon has silently removed the listing.

Acer 8.1-inch Windows 8 Pro Tablet Specs:

1) 8.1-inch CrystalBrite LCD display with a 1280 x 800 resolution

2) weighs 1.1 pounds or around 460 grams.

3) Powered by a dual-core Atom Z2760 SoC from Intel (making Windows 8 Pro as the Windows platform of choice and, not Windows RT)

4) Integrated graphics with 64 MB of memory

5) 32 GB of internal storage

6) 2 GB of RAM

7) Connectivity Options include Wireless-N networking connectivity

8) A 2MP camera on the front and a 2MP camera on the back (this is funny)

9) A two-cell 3500 mAh battery, claining up to eight hours of continuous use on a single charge.

Why the price may be a bit high at this time: Currently the 8.9-inch Kindle Fire HD starts at $269 USD, the 7.9-inch iPad mini starts at $329 USD, and the 7-inch Nexus 7 starts at $199 USD. ---------

Milagrow TabTop tablet PC latest to enter in Indian Tablet Market
A Gurgaon Haryana based tech-enabled solutions provider for businesses, Milagrow Business and Knowledge Solutions, is the latest to join the Indian tablet market with the launch of ‘TabTop PC’.

Milagrow TabTop tablet PC, runs on the Android 2.3.1 Gingerbread operating system, and has a price which puts it in the higher price tablets segment (likes of Apple’s iPad and the Galaxy Tab).

Pitched as a device which is a perfect alternative to a desktop, laptop or other tablets for users computing, information, networking and entertainment needs, below are the tablet specs.

Milagrow TabTop tablet PC latest to enter in Indian Tablet Market

Milagrow TabTop PC Specs:

1) Has an 8 inch multi touch capacitive screen with LED backlit (1024×768 pixel resolution) widescreen HD display

2) Runs on the Android 2.3.1 (Gingerbread) OS

3) Powered by a 1.2 GHz A2918 cortex processor

4) 1GB RAM

5) Has two versions with respect to internal memory: 16GB and 32GB

6) Dual cameras (a front facing and a rear camera)

7) Has Live TV capability

8) Connectivity options include: Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and a built-in 3G module, compatible with most Indian 3G providers, 2 USB slots, an HDMI port and a SD card port (to increase the storage).

9) A 5000mAh battery, which will provide up to 10 hours of battery life.

10) Comes with over 50 pre-loaded applications, related to productivity, utility, networking, media, education, women, medical and finance among others

Although the specs of the Milagrow TabTop tablet PC look decent, but the fact that, courtesy its price, the tablet will be competing with the likes of Apple’s iPad and the Galaxy Tab, makes things difficult for it. If a prospective tablet buyer in India, has to spend rupees 25k or 30k, then the chances are, he/she will go for the Apple’s iPad and the Galaxy Tab, as they have already proved themselves on ‘user experience’. The TabTop can be great on ‘user Experience’, but it will be hard for it to convince buyers, for two reasons: One, the company itself is just a couple of years old (founded in 2007); and second, the TabTop tablet PC is the company’s first tablet. Ideally the company should have debuted with a low price tablet.

Price of Milagrow TabTop tablet in India & Availability: TabTop tablet is currently available at select outlets (but the company is in talks with retailers for making the tablet available on a larger scale) and will be available from next week for a price of Rs 25,000 and Rs 29,500 for the 16GB and the 32GB model respectively. ---------
