Tell-all Book about Silicon Valley's Secret Sex Parties
To the outside World, Silicon Valley is still a fabled place. These outsiders are not just common Joes. The crucible of tech start-ups with astronomical expectations, valuations and investor money, is much alien to outside businesses as well. Most of the things they seem to know about Silicon Valley are the third person accounts of familiar with the developments. Outsiders are not to blamed entirely. The Valley is said to have a habit of keeping everything under wraps. May be the nature of their efforts (based on some brilliant yet simple easily scalable idea)  makes such an arrangement necessary.

A book which claims to be a tell-all Book about Silicon Valley's Secret Sex Parties
But keeping things very private has its own downsides. Apart from having a lot of third person accounts, too many strongly guarded closed doors, also means everything questionable happening at workplace (and work related after-hours activities) getting snow-balled into big controversies. Work Place related issues involving gender discrimination, unequal wages, sexual harassment, moral misconduct are not restricted to Silicon Valley alone, but those unearthed from the Silicon Valley become the biggest talking point. This explains why the tech startup Uber's sexual misconduct scandal involving 20 employees is still in our minds. But things don't seem to change for the valley anytime soon. More so till the private money rules most of the startups.

That said, an upcoming book (available now) by Bloomberg veteran Emily Chang named Brotopia: Breaking Up the Boys’ Club of Silicon Valley, is going to add into Silicon Valley's much talked about drug fueled (Ecstasy like called "Molly Tablets") after-hours sex parties. The book, which the author claims is based on the accounts of nearly two dozen people familiar with these parties, portrays Silicon Valley as a place where exclusive invitation only sex parties, called "e-parties" decide an attendeee's rise or fall in dynamic power struggle. A power struggle where a female in tech has no escape, claims the author.

The author believes that these after hours sex orgies involving typically first-round investors, prominent entrepreneurs and high-ranking executives(from tech and tech aligned industries) enforce a higher ratio of women to men, with the sexual acts heavily skewing towards Cougar acts, orgies.

29 Ways to improve your WordPress Website | Book shares
If you are running a self hosted WordPress blog or WordPress website, there's high likelihood that you may have a wish to improve it, so that you get more traffic. I'm emphasizing on "already running" aspect, as in order to clearly acknowledge that mere content can't pull the website up and help the WordPress website grow, a blogger must have spent some time running a website.

It may look rude, but only after some months and sometimes years of blogging, a blogger gets into the proper blogging mindset. A mindset where content creation and website improvement go together. What does working on site improvement mean? It means making site likable to search engines, get more website content indexed at key positions on search engines, bringing search traffic from search engines, building good website reputation/authority and using tools/services both within and outside the website to help it grow.

The 29 ways to improve your WordPress Website, are actually shared in a book titled -- 25 Ways To Improve Your Website by Vinny O'Hare. Why this dichotomy?  As whatever the tile suggests, the author shares with you 29 ways to improve your WordPress Website. The Book is divided into 29 chapters, and shares information from everything about Website aesthetics (importance of colors used, Ad placement, layout etc.) to title tags, alt tags, meta tags, meta description, good site navigation, importance of internal linking, building back-links, content and last but not the least 5 Social networks one must focus on.

Who the book is for:

Can't say for sure. It's quite vague for new WordPress website owners. It's quite generic for those WordPress blog or WordPress website or Website on other CMS (Content Management System) owners, who spent some time with the CMS. In addition, the latter Website owners will find the book one of the many such book present online. There are some tips though, from which both kind of website owners can benefit.

A book of Internet jokes by 95 Year Old Man!
A 95 year old man from New Kensington has self published an internet jokes book, the jokes which he collected over the years. Businessman Chuck Booth, a New Kensington resident, an entrepreneur, war hero, successful businessman and community activist, has added another feather to his cap, a published author. The book is titled “The World's Funniest Internet Jokes” (Can Buy Here).

The book cover has some sense of nostalgia though. Particularly for tthosewho have a lot of comics during childhood.

A brave attempt by the old man, going by the tonnes of jokes scattered all over the internet and shared aggressively on social networks including Whatsapp. It appears to be the case of someone preserving a paper Photo Album.

One Joke from the book, in case you want to read the 102 pages jokes book:

“Three retirees, each with a hearing loss, were playing golf one fine March day.
One remarked to the other, ‘Windy isn't it?'
‘No,' the second man replied, ‘It's Thursday.'
And the third man chimed in, ‘So am I. Let's have a beer.'”

Online Social Networking Tips by Ankit Fadia | New Book for Professionals
Ankit Fadia is a popular techie in India. He had the distinction of being the youngest hacker in India. A distinction which gave him the opportunity to get a job at Infosys (If I remember correctly) and become India's sweetheart. Young men and women are familiar with him. A large section of these 20 year olds are his fans as well. You can call Ankit Fadia the Chetan Bhagat of Tech World. Ankit has written a couple of books on hacking (or ethical hacking) , internet tips. His latest book is on Social media. The book teaches you 50 ways you can use Social networks such as Twitter, Facebook, etc. to improve your professional life.

Since Ankit Fadia writes for 20 somethings, his new book , titled Social : 50 Ways to Improve Your Professional Life on social networking skills or social media tips for professionals is just Rs 140.

The book is good for readers with very basic understanding of Social landscape online. But that is understandable, going by the fact that, professionals in jobs other than Tech based, seldom have more than basic knowledge of anything online. The book is not for those with considerable knowledge of social networks.

When You Appear younger than Your Age, You are healthy: New Book

New Book, ‘Appears Younger Than Stated Age,’ Discusses How To look younger than your chronological age through  practical age-defying habits, including healthy recipes, fitness tips and easy-to-follow medical advice.

What is the key to making a permanent change to one's Lifestyle for better health and for better day to day satisfaction ?

OR

What is the key to losing excess body weight and, keeping it at bay for the rest for the life?

The answers to these and many other similar questions, which stress you every now and then, are provided by physician James L. Hardeman, in his new book, titled, “Appears Younger Than Stated Age”.

As the title suggests, the book is ready reckoner sort of, of practical age-defying habits, including healthy recipes, fitness tips and easy-to-follow medical advice, which the user has to practice and keep revisiting  for improved health and, as a result, a younger look.

This is how the Physican summarises the book for you,

“This is more of a how-to handbook to be read in a few hours and referred to again and again. Being healthy, including achieving and maintaining your optimum weight, requires changing your lifestyle to incorporate healthy living into your personality and self-identity. There is so much false information out there and I want to present the truth, including the fact that when you’re healthy, you can look and feel younger than your stated age – a term doctors use in their notes to describe someone who looks younger than their age. Hence the Title of the Book.”

What “Appears Younger than Stated Age” Offers?

The book outlines 40 basic age-defying habits for lifelong physical and mental wellness. That apart, it demonstrates that people can maintain a healthy body weight without any fads or gimmicks. The straightforward guide includes tips on how to get started and remain motivated in the transition to a healthier lifestyle. The Book has recommendations for maintaining mental health, and nutritional and scientific information. Also featured are cardio exercises and diet habits; tips to increase daily activity; debunked diet myths; no-bother recipes, and detailed images of weightlifting exercises.

Since, any book meant to initiate a permanent Lifestyle change in you, can't just profess to simple and quite effective no fad suggestions; hence the book too suggests the readers on Low-calorie, satisfying dinner recipes. The basic premise in suggesting these low calorie diets is twofold: One to motivate you to shed some initial pounds quickly; and two, not to make the book totally mental. As an intelligent reader, if you clearly understood the mental aspect behind the age defying habits, then you most probably don't need to eat any special low calorie diet. Don't blame the doctor for suggesting you some dietary tips; he simply wants you to get motivated to practice the simple and profound Tips, which will put you on the path of better Lifestyle. The doctor is simply trying to bring your attention to the wisdom, and you can excuse him for using some fads or gimmicks in the process).

Hence, do read the section on dining option, which includes a vegetarian burger with onions, tofu and mushroom soup; another features vegetarian chili with tomato and basil pasta. The eating guide also includes convenient low-fat snacks and how to eat healthy when dining out.

-- E.B. Moncrief Distinguished Professor, University of Texas Health Science Center in Tyler, Texas.

About the Author -- Dr. James L. Hardeman:

Dr. James L. Hardeman has developed numerous strategies and recommendations for sustaining good health and youthful appearance. He received postgraduate training in Internal Medicine and Pulmonary/Critical care at University of Southern California and University of California Irvine. Dr. Hardeman is physician adviser to the Clinical Nutrition Services at St. Jude Medical Center in Fullerton, Calif.

Opinion:

It'll be interesting to know, what 40 basic age-defying habits for lifelong physical and mental wellness, the book suggests. Although, since it's coming from a Physician, who wants to cut on the myths and all the cacophony regarding Healthy Lifestyle, Weight loss, habits; it will be interesting. Particularly if it aims to address to the mental aspect of habits and Lifestyle. As only that person, who managed to understand the psychological aspects of weight gain and Lifestyle; has managed to lose weight permanently or got into a healthy Lifestyle. Everything else is just fad.

Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg's Book for Working Woman
...who is ambitious enough to climb corporate ladders and determined enough to overcome the internal &  external obstacles she faces to reach to the Top.

43 year old, Facebook Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg's new book titled Lean In: Women, Work, and the Will to Lead is a mix of  many things -- it's a journey through her own life from being an aerobic instructor in 1980s to being at the top of Corporate hierarchy in 2000s (moved from Google to Facebook in 2008); to her views on what working women should be like and what they should be aspiring for. Sandberg who herself had to face many of the issues which most working women face in their work and personal lives wants the working women to aspire for more and just not accept the usual notions and stereotypes, the society makes for them.

Some views: The book just launched this Monday. Thus any views about the book you can read right now, are more or less affected by the personality of the Sandberg. That's how the world sees her. Because of this, many critics have called the book, a super rich and powerful woman's agenda to change the direction of feminism. Some called it an attempt at personal branding. This may or may not be true. For instance, the book shares Sandberg's desire to establish the Economic equality between genders and how a working woman should demand equality at Home and Work. But the book also comments on why Women shouldn't treat their gender as a tool to get special treatment for them. In her opinion, women have reached a point much beyond that. And the time is to ''Lean In" -- that is pushing past fear.

About the Book:

Lean In: Women, Work, and the Will to Lead by: Sheryl Sandberg

publisher: Knopf, published: 2013-03-12

sales rank: 1

Thirty years after women became 50 percent of the college graduates in the United States, men still hold the vast majority of leadership positions in government and industry. This means that women’s voices are still not heard equally in the decisions that most affect our lives. In Lean In, Sheryl Sandberg examines why women’s progress in achieving leadership roles has stalled, explains the root causes, and offers compelling, commonsense solutions that can empower women to achieve their full potential.

Sandberg is the chief operating officer of Facebook and is ranked on Fortune’s list of the 50 Most Powerful Women in Business and as one of Time’s 100 Most Influential People in the World. In 2010, she gave an electrifying TEDTalk in which she described how women unintentionally hold themselves back in their careers. Her talk, which became a phenomenon and has been viewed more than two million times, encouraged women to “sit at the table,” seek challenges, take risks, and pursue their goals with gusto.

In Lean In, Sandberg digs deeper into these issues, combining personal anecdotes, hard data, and compelling research to cut through the layers of ambiguity and bias surrounding the lives and choices of working women. She recounts her own decisions, mistakes, and daily struggles to make the right choices for herself, her career, and her family. She provides practical advice on negotiation techniques, mentorship, and building a satisfying career, urging women to set boundaries and to abandon the myth of “having it all.”  She describes specific steps women can take to combine professional achievement with personal fulfillment and demonstrates how men can benefit by supporting women in the workplace and at home.

Written with both humor and wisdom, Sandberg’s book is an inspiring call to action and a blueprint for individual growth. Lean In is destined to change the conversation from what women can’t do to what they can. ---------

Read Extra Money BestSeller for making Money Online
Many a times people ask how I make money online. Most of the times such questions arise from the suspicion that how on earth someone can make money online, when all he/she does is sit in front of a net connected PC 15 hours a day, 365 days a year. Some of the times the question arises from the asker's real desire to earn Money or earn some extra money on internet.

Although, it's too difficult to answer all the web wisdom as an answer to one simple question (the moticve of which you can never know), still I try to answer it:

Whether you make money online full time or part time, you earn money online (legitimate way) in the following Four Ways:

1) By content: You run Blogs (websites), Social Network Pages or Profiles (like Twitter Facebook etc.) show Advertisements from programs like Adsense (you open an adsense account, they provide you with Ad code, you put that in your website, and are paid based on pageload, clicks and actions). You also show Third party ads on your Websites. You Use your Facebook or Twitter profiles/pages to channelize traffic to your blog/website or your Real like product or service (in this case you give your phone numbers, address or brick or mortar shop to take orders or meet the customer).

2) Sell the Products of others for some Commission: On web you can sell both virtual (softwares, eBooks etc.) and Real Life products (home appliances, tech gadgets, Apparels etc.). Only requirement is the Affiliate Link. The Company or brand, whose products you sell, gives you an id, which is unique to you; and every time someone clicks on the link containing your unique id or buys the product, you get a fixed commission. Every eCommerce giant like Amazon, eBay etc. runs an affiliate program; and joining it, one can market a range of products available on their platform.

3) You can Sell your own products/Services: Here you use online properties like websites, Social network profiles, email lists as customer puller for your product or service.

Basically, when people put their creativity and ingenuity to the above three ways of making money online; they invent new and better ways to perform the above three tasks better than the competition  And that sets them apart from others. Overall, just like the real world businesses, an online business also requires Direct Marketing, indirect Marketing (Web) etc. to get results.

That's everyone wants to make money online, but it's not easy path. It may not be difficult if you do it properly; but it's not easy money. You will always need never say die attitude and bucket loads of patience. that apart, from personal observation, I have seen how small things link Affiliate Link Cloaking can do for Your Affiliate marketing.

So this is the answer to How People make money or some extra money online.

If you want to know more about How to make Extra money on Web (internet), then Extra Money Answer: How to Create, Promote, and Monetize an Affiliate Site can be a good reference.

The book which tells about practical ways to make money online and what you will require to succeed is a #1 in Canada, France, Germany, and the UK. It's#2 in Japan and #3 in Italy. Whole Foods CEO John Mackey Talks about Conscious Capitalism, in New Book
Quite often we hear about the benevolence of Socialism or communism and; the evils of capitalism. The debate is so common in our societies, that no one ever bothers to test the validity of the assertion.

John Mackey, author of a new book (co-author Rajendra Sisodia), Conscious Capitalism, has actually lived the life of being a Socialist and a capitalist; and has first hand experience with the pros & cons of Socialism and Capitalism. The book is quite interesting; and is a must read for anyone, who wants to elevate himself/herself from the irresponsible coffee table discussions.

Who is John Mackey?

John Mackey, as said, has seen both the Socialism and the capitalism. He grew up in “the counterculture movement of the late 1960s and 1970s,” studied “Eastern philosophy and religion,” lived in “an urban co-op/commune,” was “a member of three separate food-co-ops”, as he believed “the co-op movement was the best way to reform capitalism because it was based on cooperation instead of competition,” and initially “embraced the ideology that corporations were essentially evil.” In short, for most of his young life, he was a socialist, believing in the state and community ownership of money and resources.

But later, just like David Mamet, and  much recently Alec Baldwin, John Mackey found himself disillusioned with Socialism. A sentiment he describes as below:

“There seemed little room for entrepreneurial creativity; virtually every decision was politicized.  The most politically active members controlled the co-op with the own personal agendas, and much more energy was focused on deciding which companies to boycott than on how to improve the quality of products and services for customers.  I thought I could create a better store than any of the co-ops I belonged to, and decided to become an entrepreneur to prove it.”

In his disillusioned days, Mackey founded a small natural food store called “Safer-Way,” which ultimately became Whole Foods. A well known company.

What the Whole Foods has taught Mackey about Capitalism, has made him realise that capitalism is not Evil.

Calling Mackey's brand of capitalism, “conscious capitalism”; co-author Rajendra Sisodia says,

"Conscious Capitalism is a way of thinking about business that is more conscious of its higher purpose, its impacts on the world, and the relationships it has with its various constituencies and stakeholders.  It reflects a deeper consciousness about why businesses exist and how they can create more value."

When applied to the Whole Foods, Mackey once defined to Milton Friedman (his Role Model) the purpose of Whole Foods, as one to change the world, and to pursue a higher purpose. His words were:

“Making high profits is the means to the end of fulfilling Whole Foods’ core business mission.  We want to improve the health and well-being of everyone on the planet through higher-quality foods and better nutrition, and we can’t fulfill this mission unless we are highly profitable.”

Although there may be many things in the book, you will disagree with Mackey and Sisodia; but still the book can make you think, more groundedly on the issue. And can be an eye-opener for those who have always seen Socialism as holy cow and Capitalism as Frankenstein.

Conscious Capitalism: Liberating the Heroic Spirit of Business
by: John Mackey
publisher: Harvard Business Review Press, published: 2013-01-15
sales rank: 54

A Wall Street Journal Bestseller

As seen and heard on: MSNBC's Morning Joe, CNBC's Off the Cuff, CBS This Morning, NPR’s Morning Edition, CNBC with Maria Bartiromo, Fox Business News Cavuto, WNYC, New York Times Magazine, Wall Street Journal, Forbes.com, Inc.com, and Fortune.com.

“We believe that business is good because it creates value, it is ethical because it is based on voluntary exchange, it is noble because it can elevate our existence, and it is heroic because it lifts people out of poverty and creates prosperity. Free-enterprise capitalism is the most powerful system for social cooperation and human progress ever conceived. It is one of the most compelling ideas we humans have ever had. But we can aspire to something even greater.” —From the Conscious Capitalism Credo

In this book, Whole Foods Market cofounder John Mackey and professor and Conscious Capitalism, Inc. cofounder Raj Sisodia argue for the inherent good of both business and capitalism. Featuring some of today’s best-known companies, they illustrate how these two forces can—and do—work most powerfully to create value for all stakeholders: including customers, employees, suppliers, investors, society, and the environment.

These “Conscious Capitalism” companies include Whole Foods Market, Southwest Airlines, Costco, Google, Patagonia, The Container Store, UPS, and dozens of others. We know them; we buy their products or use their services. Now it’s time to better understand how these organizations use four specific tenets—higher purpose, stakeholder integration, conscious leadership, and conscious culture and management—to build strong businesses and help advance capitalism further toward realizing its highest potential.

As leaders of the Conscious Capitalism movement, Mackey and Sisodia argue that aspiring leaders and business builders need to continue on this path of transformation—for the good of both business and society as a whole.

At once a bold defense and reimagining of capitalism and a blueprint for a new system for doing business grounded in a more evolved ethical consciousness, this book provides a new lens for individuals and companies looking to build a more cooperative, humane, and positive future.

Twitter inspired eBook | Twitter Highlight
Twitter inspired the world in 2012 in many ways.

But the inspiration didn't only limit to the Twitterverse. Creative people took the inspiration to outside world as well.

For instance, one American author released her tweet-sized novel.

The American author of A Visit from the Goon Squad had an online hit in April when she published "Black Box", a short story she'd written for the New Yorker in novel fashion.

The novel appeared in miniature, one- or two-sentence chapters, each short enough to be tweeted. And to keep the Twitter aesthetics and sentiment intact, used a publishing format, wherein 8 small Boxes occupied each page. Just enough to accommodate 8 Tweets or 8 chapters. Yes, the notebook for the special format came from a special notebook, sold by Muji, which had eight small rectangles on every page.

Lets see how Twitter inspires the creative minds in 2013.

About the Book:

'Close your eyes and slowly count backward from ten.'

America, the near future. A young spy on a mission logs her observations. The result is an intense thriller, and a minute dissection of the experience of a woman whose beauty is also her camouflage, for whom control relies on submission: a woman whose success - whose life - depends on being seen and not seen.

Originally published online via Twitter by @NYerFiction, Jennifer Egan's first new fiction since the phenomenal success of A Visit From the Goon Squad is a taut, compulsive work of unrelenting genius. ---------
