App that lets you make Enemies on Facebook
If Facebook is like the real world; then it should have both friends and enemies!
Facebook’s ‘All friends-liness’ is indeed becoming monotonous for many.

Lets have an end to those monotonies.

EnemyGraph, a free Facebook app, actually lets users to list their enemies instead of making friends.

How the App works:

The app works by connecting Facebook users on things they dislike and point out a difference you have with a friend and offer it up for conversation, as opposed to a similarity.

Although following the same model of modern day social networks; wherein the focus is on finding things of mutual interests and shared experiences; the new app tries to curate just the Opposite – the differences.

Facebook users have been demanding a dislike button feature for eternity now; but Facebook is not listening. Surely, EnemyGraph will delight all such users who believe that every entity on world’s biggest social network – be it a brand, groupd, community page or user on Facebook can be a friend. Like real world there are enemies too. ---------

Facebook Energy-Saving App launched
Last October, Facebook collaborated with the National Resources Defense Council (NRDC) and Opower, to create a power-conservation app for Facebook.

Yesterday, the same app has been launched.

The app, aims to help people move towards lower energy use, and power bills, through social engagement OR if more aptly said through social pressures.

What the App offers:

Using the app, users can compare energy use to similar homes, using a national database, and compete against their friends in terms of energy use and efficiency. Users will also be able to form themselves into factions and compete against others, with incentives provided by their utility partners. In addition, the Facebook users will be able to share this information via their Facebook newsfeed or Timeline. That aprt, the app will also provide tips to help conserve energy, such as investments in energy-efficient appliances and home improvements.

Sixteen utilities across the nation said they will support the app, reaching 20 million households.

The collaborators behind the app, want to achieve a mere 1 percent energy use saving by the App users. If every household in the U.S. cut back on energy use by a mere 1 percent, that alone would cut more than $1.6 billion off of Americans' annual energy bills. That's the same as taking more than 1.2 million homes off-the-grid all together, informed Brandi Colander, an NRDC attorney in its Energy and Transportation Group, in a statement.

Interestingly the other energy-conservation initiatives, including Microsoft Hohm and Google PowerMeter failed to get people’s affection. Google shut down PowerMeter in September 2011.
Microsoft Hohm, is closing shop May 2012.

How to use the App:

Facebook’s social energy app, which will be found at the Opower site. Users can log in with their Facebook account. ---------

How to use Facebook at work without getting caught? Try This Facebook App
How to use Facebook at work

Good news for all those office workers, whose hearts go pounding for the fear of boss, every time they try to keep up with their Facebook Friends from their office computer.

An Ivy League University student, whose dear friend found herself in a similar situation, when she was doing a government internship; has created a Facebook app to rescue all such office workers.

Yale computer science major Bay Gross, 20, has to create a website after a special friend doing a government internship told him she had to wait until after work to read his Facebook updates. But determined to interact with her all the time, Ross, developed a website, named Hardlywork.in, which automatically converts a Facebook user’s Facebook news feed into an excel spreadsheet, so procrastinating at work appears to onlookers like dedicated number-crunching.

The ingenious site, thus allows Facebook users to instantly see what their friends are up to on Facebook, with updates from friends appearing as new spreadsheet rows. Pictures and videos uploaded can be viewed by hovering cursor over the entries and users can interact, ’liking’ the updates with a simple click on the spreadsheet.

The Website page, intentionally designed to mimic corporate look, is slyly titled 'daily cash reconciliation' so that wasting time appears to nosy onlookers (to a boss walking by) as diligent financial work.

Ross, is delighted with his creation, as the day he launched the clever site, his friend on the government internship is already using it; and doesn’t make him wait for long hours.

Countless others are using it too, if you want to try out too; then just Sign in with Facebook, and see your news feed rendered into an innocuous corporate form.'

About the website: The 20 year old launched the site on Sunday after spending just 15 hours developing it. The site is immensely well received since its launch, receiving 10,000 unique visitors per day. ---------
