Q2 results of almost all Indian IT firms reveal a fallout

The banking and financial crisis in the US is negatively affecting the revenues and profits of Indian IT-BPO firms.

This showed in Q2 results and is believed to show in Q3 results as well.

The environment at best is termed uncertain by Top Indian IT firms.

The Q2 (July-September 2008) results of most Indian It firms reveal the fallout.


But before that definition of the key terms used:

QoQ or Quarter on Quarter – implies the comparison b/w between one financial quarter and the previous financial quarter.

In the report it implies comparison b/w Q1 and Q2, FY 2007


YoY or Year on Year– implies the comparison b/w the quarter of one year to the same quarter of the previous year.

In the report it implies comparison b/w Q2, FY 2007 and Q2, FY 2008


Vertical market – A vertical market is a market that’s able to meet the requirements of one specific industry.

In the report “Banking, financial services and insurance (BFSI) vertical” means the BFSI market of all those product and services, that can be contracted to IT industry only.
