According to LIRNEasia’s Broadband and Quality service Experience (QoSE) Testing, Feb 2009 results –the following are the chief features of Broadband and Quality service Experience in three countries India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
India(study conducted in Chennai and New Delhi):
1. Indian operators are not promising more than they can provide and deliver. Thus they are advertising their products quite ethically.
2. Indian operators, generally deliver what they promise and sometimes even more.
3. The Indian Telecom Regulator, The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) is intervening well, when it comes to effectively put the operators in check and give better services to the customer.
4. The activism of TRAI seems to be working.
Bangladesh(study conducted in Dhaka):
1. Prices have gone down but so does quality.
Sri Lanka(study conducted in Colombo):
1. Broadband users have excellent choices.
2. The actual speed the broadband users get is far better than their counterparts in Delhi, Chennai and Dhaka.
3. Telecom operators do promise more than they can provide and deliver.
