AT&T's pricing policy for the new iPhone 3G S has outraged even the most loyal iPhone users.
AT&T is charging a $200 fee to the existing iPhone 3G users who want to upgrade to the latest 3G S model.
The angry iPhone users are using Twitter as a medium to file their complaints and express their anger, against AT&T.
As of Wednesday afternoon, nearly 5,000 people have signed the "twitition" which says, "AT&T should give existing customers the same rate for the new iPhone 3G S that they do for new customers. New customers or not, another two-year contract is being made."
All the customers who purchased an older iPhone with the current AT&T contract are not eligible for another subsidized phone. Those subscribers would be forced to pay the full price for the iPhone 3G S, $399 for the 16GB and $599 for the 32GB model.
Besides the Twitter petition, consumers are also complaining on several other forums, including AT&T's own Apple forum. The complaints are now moving beyond the pricing to include AT&T's network issues.
So far AT&T has not officially responded to the consumer reaction to its iPhone upgrade fee.
