Apple owns ninety percent of the premium PC retail market at US

According to NPD group, nine out of every ten US consumers who intend to buy an expensive PC, priced at 1000 dollars and more; choose Apple.

Have a look at the following numbers:

For the month of June (2009), nine out of every ten (91 percent) of all computers sold at retail for more than $1,000 were Macs.

For the month of May (2009), 88 percent of all computers sold at retail for more than $1,000 were Macs.

Compared to the April, May, June quarter of 2008, Apple has sold 13 percent more Macs in Apr-Jun 2009.

But despite the enviable position in the premium market, Apple's price cuts across its Mac Book Pro lineup introduced in early June helped, the company retain and grow its market position.As during February through May period, Apple net-book sales growth actually declined.
