On October 14 , 2009 comScore released its analysis of the U.S. search marketplace for September 2009.
In September 2009, Americans conducted 13.8 billion core searches, with Google Sites accounting for 64.9 percent search market share.
U.S. Core Search Rankings September 2009 on the basis of share of searches:
Google Sites_____________________64.9 percent
Yahoo! Sites_____________________18.8 percent
Microsoft sites___________________9.4 percent
Ask Network____________________3.9 percent
AOL LLC Network_______________3 percent
While Google bettered its market share most vs August 2009, Microsoft bettered slightly. Yahoo fared slightly negatively. No change for Ask and AOL.
