For non bulk plans an American pays 20 cents per sms. In Indian terms this is Rs 9 per SMS.
For bulk sms offers, which most Americans choose to lower down the burden of exorbitant SMS rates, on a per-megabyte basis, consumers pay over $1,000/MB for the privilege to send a 160-character text messages. This makes for 16 cents per SMS. In Indian money this is Rs. 7.2.
