Acer Launches 7 inch Iconia A100 Honeycomb Tablet

With tablet screen size unanimously settling at Apple iPad size, it’s interesting to see some players still putting their money on tablets with a screen much smaller. In what is likely to be the first of many smaller-screen Honeycomb tablets to hit store shelves, Huawei announced some of late as well, Acer on Friday launched the seven-inch Iconia A100 line of tablets.

The new tablet will run Android 3.2, the first version of Honeycomb to support the smaller screen resolution. The Acer Iconia A100 supports dual displays, meaning that the tablet can be used as a controller. The product also has a MicroSD card reader, allowing people to easily extend the storage above 32 GB.

Price & availability: The new tablets which weigh under a bound (less than 420 grams), are available immediately at major retailers in the US. The tablet will be available in Canada next month. A 16GB model is priced at $349, while an 8GB model has a suggested $329 price tag. --------
