Microsoft has unveiled its latest Webcam, the LifeCam Studio. For the first time, the company is to offer a native 1080p sensor (which means high quality non-grainy video chats).
Full 1080p HD is now a standard televisions, Blu-ray players, and other home entertainment devices. But Webcams with 1080p HD are only beginning to appear.
Prior to Microsoft, Logitech has offered the market a 1080p Webcam-- a 1080p C910.
Microsoft calls its new Webcam, “the closest thing to being there.”
Launched just in time for Windows Live Messenger 2011, the new webcam will offer HD video calling. The 1080p sensor of the LifeCam Studio is twice as large as the 720p HD sensors on the market, making for more light to enter; and getting good video quality in insufficient lighting conditions too.
Additional features are: a tripod thread, a 360-degrees view range and an elongated hood to shield the lens from stray light and prevent washed-out colors.
The 1080p LifeCam Studio is available at Best Buy, and online too.
Price: $99.95
