The 2010 Stuff Gadget Awards have been handed out. The annual awards recognise the best consumer technology released in the past year and are decided by expert judges and readers.
Below are the proud recipients:
Best Gadget of the Year-- Apple iPad
Best Reader' Gadget of the year -- Apple iPad
According to Stuff magazien Editor and judge Fraser Macdonald, Apple has not got the top spot hands down; as no matter how hotly it's selling; the opinion is that It's expensive and functionally limited. But the current and increasing ecosystem the Apple's talet has makes it quite gloriously indispensable and only making itself more. Apple has to beat Amazon's popular e-reader Kindle and Sky 3D to win both the awards.
Most innovative Gadget of the Year Readers' choice -- Microsoft's motion-sensor gaming system Xbox Kinect
Most Eco Friendly Gadget of the year --- Apple's iPhone4 and the compact hybrid electric Honda CR-Z car.
Camera of teh Year -- Sony NEX-5
Home Entertainment Gadget of the Year -- Sony BDP-S570 Blu-ray Disc player
TV of the Year -- Sony HX903
Two new categories were created this year: The Web App of the Year and The mobile App fo the year.
The Web App of the Year : Film library LoveFilm
The mobile App fo the year: Personal fitness trainer app MiCoach
Footnote: It' always difficult to decide whether to share an Award or Top List with esteemed Readers; but the simple premise that no matter how much such Awards are rigged; An Award never goes to a totally non-deserving candidate.
