Pushnote, a new web commenting service is trying to build a global commenting community; if that happens then it’s sure to rattle some feathers.
What is Pushnote:
Pushnote is a browser add-on tool which allows users to leave comments on any site that they visit, without needing to log in.
How it can be controversial, if it succeeds in its plans -- to build a global commenting community:
As websites will not be able to remove or censor any comments posted onto their sites via Pushnote (So twitter like malice towards brands and people can unroll on the website’s own courtyard).
How to use Pushnote:
Simple visit Pushnote, sign up and download the add-on for the browser you use (currently supported by Google Chrome, Firefox and Internet Explorer); will be installed like any other browser addon. The Pushnote button will then appear in your browser bar (at top right in chrome). Click the button to launch the Pushnote pop-up, and leave comments on any site on the web. The Pushnote button turns green when you visit a page where people have left comments. It turns red to alert you to new comments from friends (web-wide), so things can be shared and discussed in real-time.
To incorporate the social networking aspect, just as twitter one can follow friends who've signed up, and other Pushnote users. One can also cross-post his/her Pushnotes to his/her Twitter and Facebook accounts.
*** It’s to be seen, up to where the service can propel it.
