Global picture:

For the first time in October 2010, IE's global market share dipped below 50 percent. Google Chrome gained the most from the slack, but with roughly 14 percent of the global market, so still some way to go to overtake Microsoft.

Mozilla Firefox held a steady second place last year, veering little from 31 percent market share. Notably in the data, the figures for Microsoft IE 9 Beta are not included. However, Earlier this week Microsoft said IE 9 Beta has been downloaded more than 20 million times.

Global User distribution:

Roughly 33 percent of all browser users are from North America. --------
