Gordon Murray unveils World’s most efficient battery powered car

World-renowned car designer Gordon Murray has unveiled world’s most efficient battery powered small car.

The world’s most efficient battery powered car:

Named T.27 is the battery version of T.25 micro car. The three seater car is ultra light weighing just 1, 500 pounds or 682 kilograms -- the lightest in the small car category.

The car runs on a tiny 12 kilowatt-hour battery pack and delivers between 100 and 130 miles per charge. The car has a top speed of 65 mph and accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in less than 15 seconds.

According to the company, the T.27 uses 29 percent less energy per kilometer than a Smart Fortwo Electric Drive, making it the "World's Most Efficient Electric Car."

It took Murray about 17 months, and about 13.5 million pounds (33 percent of which was a grant from the UK Government) to create the world’s most efficient car.

The car is still in development and there is no word on when it will hit the market. --------
