BlackBerry 10 Smartphone coming in May

RIM BlackBerry 10 Smartphone?

Yes, Research In Motion is going to debut a prototype of its upcoming BlackBerry 10 smartphone in May. This is to give the applications developers a crucial first look at the operating system, quotes WSJ, Alec Saunders, RIM’s vice president for developer relations and ecosystem development.
But the May prototype device will not resemble the final Smartphone, which is expected to debut sometime in the second half of 2012.

Leaving the prototype device with the application developers, before its final launch, will give application developers some time to develop diverse apps for the ecosystem; a factor which will weigh heavily on the survival prospects of the BlackBerry 10 operating system.

Notably, RIM is also working on making developers build apps for its PlayBook tablet, apps which can be ported onto BlackBerry 10. As part of its plan, RIM for some time now is distributing free Playbooks to developers.
